Today I’m going to be posting my Book-ish Resolutions. I have a lot of books and I keep buying books so I’ve decided it’s time to post my book-related resolutions. So without further ado, here are my resolutions.
1. Read at least one classic
This year I want to make sure that I read at least one classic and I’m hoping it will be Jane Eyre. I’ve been wanting to read it for years so I’ve decided to complete that task by making sure I read a classic this year.
2. Read more Shakespeare
Last year I wanted to read all of his plays but I didn’t manage to find time to. I read them on my kindle but for most of the year I lost my charger so I couldn’t charge it to read from it. I’m hoping to read at least 2/3 plays this year.
3. Read more non-fiction
I read a lot of fiction books last year and 1 non-fiction (if that), but this year I want to read more. I read It by Alexa Chung last night and it made me want to read more non-fiction books that are more style and fashion related so I picked up a few fashion books during my stay in London (one was It) and I hope to read them this year.
4. If I dislike a book, put it down
That goes without saying, I read far too many books I didn’t like last year and it brought on a few reading slumps. I want to avoid that this year.
5. Listen to more audiobooks
I’m hoping this will help me cut down my TBR. Last year I listened to 2 books; Prodigy and Magonia. They were 2 books I really didn’t enjoy reading but wanted to get them finished so I stumbled across an audiobook of them both on youtube and listened to them.
