Today is my stop on Abrams&Chronicle Blog tour for the amazing Legendary Ladies by Ann Shen.
Legendary Ladies is a beautiful book filled with 50 Goddesses designed to empower and inspire you and at the same time educate you on an array of different
Goddesses from different cultures from Aztec to Yoruba. As well as an assortment of different cultures’ Goddess’ they are each labelled with a general heading of what they represent. They fall under the following categories;
-Creativity and Manifestation
Each blog post on this tour focuses on a different Goddess and today I am focusing on one from the Protection section of the book and that Goddess is Kali.
Kali is of an Indian origin and has existed since BEFORE Hinduism came to India. Regarded as a wild Goddess of destruction, Kali has four arms and a pointed tongue. It is believed that her uncontrollable dance of destruction both saved and then began to destroy the world.
Kali is a warm and loving figure who will protects those who ask. I simply love her because she protects those who want to get over their fears and boy have I had some of those these past few years. I like to think Kali was watching over me and guiding me to the places I may not want to be, but where I should be.
Kali is also fiiieerce in the illustration of her. (picture not mine)
