The Fault In Our Stars- John Green
If you haven’t already read it or heard about it (and if you haven’t where have you been living this decade?), The Fault In Our Stars is about the terminally ill cancer patient, Hazel Grace Lancaster and the gorgeous plot twist Augustus Waters. Who meet at a Support Group, which takes place once a week and is for kids like Hazel who are in various states of tumor-driven health.
Hazel, knowing she will die, believes she will never find love and thinks it pointless to do so, but when she meets Augustus, she begins to fall for him.
The gorgeous plot twist of Augustus is someone everyone wants to have in their life, he is charming, has a loving and big family. Reads. He’s perfect, he and Hazel fall for one another quickly and the audience too fall for them.
They go to Amsterdam together and meet with Hazel’s favourite author who is not all he seems and it all plays out beautifully. You want them to live forever and the book to end happily ever after. But tragedy strikes, and it will when two people meet at a Support Group for kids with, your heart will break in two.
Green writes with such precision and electricity that you can’t help but fall in love with this book within a few pages! This book, like many others I have read will be in my heart for a long time. As you can see it is in the 4 star category, this is because of a certain character death… I need not say anymore.
